AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie could still make the move to Inter or Juventus in the summer when his contract expires at the end of the season, but the favourite for his signature are Barcelona.

This according to SportItalia transfer market expert, who wrote about the midfielder in his column in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport and reported that he is almost certain to leave the Rossoneri but that the Catalan giants are his likeliest destination.

Kessie’s curent deal with Milan runs out at the end of June, and with the player looking very far from an agreement on an extension he is set to follow Gianluigi Donnarumma and Hakan Calhanoglu out the exit door on a free transfer.

The Nerazzurri have been reported to be interested in potentially signing him on a free transfer to shore up their midfield, repeating what they did with Calhanoglu, but according to Pedulla he is likely headed to the Blaugranas.

“Franck is now separated from the Rossoneri,” he writes, “if he were to renew it would be the most unexpected story in five years. The unthinkable could always happen, but it now appears that their paths will diverge.”

He goes on that “Kessie has been associated with everyone, from Paris Saint-Germain to Tottenham, as well as Inter and Juve.”

“In reality, at least today, his contacts are most frequent with Barcelona,” Pedulla continues. “And there was a verbal agreement that starts with a fixed amount of €8 million net per season, plus add-ons reaching at least €10 million.”

“If Kessie is amenable the proposal, it could quickly get over the finish line, in a few weeks we will be much closer to knowing the outcome,” he adds.
