Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu felt his side did everything but score in yesterday’s goalless draw with Genoa in Serie A.

The Nerazzurri were held to a 0-0 stalemate by the Grifone at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris despite enjoying the bulk of the opportunities, and failed to win for the fourth consecutive match.

In an interview with Inter TV after the final whistle, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, the Turkey international admitted that the Nerazzurri were going through a difficult period but were facing bad luck in their efforts to find a goal.

“We knew that today it would be tough against a different Genoa, who play aggressively. We created a lot, we only missed the goal,” Calhanoglu claimed.

“It’s a strange period, but we have to be calm because we have other matches to play. On a personal level, I’m fine, maybe a little tired given a really tough month. We wanted to redeem ourselves after the defeat against Sassuolo, but unfortunately we missed the goal.”

Inter must turn their attention to the Coppa Italia semi-final, as they face AC Milan on Tuesday, and it sees Calhanoglu come up against his former club following his controversial switch across the city last summer.

However, the Turkey star saw it as an opportunity for Inter to put a disappointing month behind them and focus on a big game.

“Let’s put February behind us and concentrate on the derby on Tuesday,” he added.
