Cagliari manager Walter Mazzarri is very pleased with the form that on-loan Inter defender has shown with the Rossoblu in recent weeks.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following his side’s 2-1 win over Torino in Serie A, the coach praised the Brazilian for how his performances have developed over the season in Sardinia.

Dalbert decided to make the switch on loan to the Rossoblu during the summer, with the 28-year-old joining the sporting project of coach Leonardo Semplici, but the then-coach was sacked only three matches into the season.

The Brazilian has then had to adapt to life under Semplici’s successor, former Inter, Torino, and Napoli boss Mazzarri, and has also seen his team in the midst of a relegation battle.

However, since the return from the winter break the Rossoblu have been in excellent form, and the individual form of Dalbert has been a big part of this.

Mazzarri explained that “After getting past a bad cycle of injuries, he’s proving his worth. He’s another player who’s in good form, he’s looked like another player.”
