Inter and AC Milan will soon meet with Milan Mayor Beppe Sala about potentially getting past delays in the construction of a new stadium in Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the clubs are determined to speed up the process and start construction one way or another and will meet with Sala soon.

A number of bureaucratic and political hurdles have held up the planned construction of the new “Cathedral” stadium in Milan, which is to be built adjacent to the San Siro in the current parking area while the existing stadium is to be demolished.

However, the clubs see the project as vital to securing their futures, and have no intention of waiting around, having also been reportedly considering options outside of the city if they cannot get the project done with the city council.

Now, the teams are ready to meet again with Sala for talks which they hope will quickly progress the project along.
