Inter captain Samir Handanovic played his 541st match in Serie A on Friday as the 37-year-old helped his team to a clean sheet against Genoa, the latest of many in his career.

The Slovenian drew level with Roberto Mancini in the all-time appearance charts for the Italian top flight with the start, meaning that he is now joint-level eight-highest appearance-maker in the division between his time at Udinese and Inter.

The Nerazzurri congratulated the captain on the milestone in a post on their official Instagram account.

They captioned the post, “Genoa v Inter was @samirhandanovic‘s 541st #SerieA match, equalling Roberto Mancini as the eighth player with the most Italian top-flight appearances in the history of the competition.
