AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not feature in tomorrow’s Coppa Italia semi-final first leg clash with Inter due to injury.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the Swede is instead targeting a return in Sunday’s Serie A clash with Napoli.

Ibrahimovic has been recovering from an ankle injury for some time, and even though he is close to getting back to full fitness he will not be deemed to be ready to play tomorrow.

The 40-year-old took part in a warm-up with the entire Rossoneri squad yesterday in training, but then worked individually for the remainder of the session.

Ibrahimovic’s fitness will not be risked for tomorrow’s match, meaning that the Rossoneri are likely to rely on Olivier Giroud to lead the line for the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg.

The Frenchman had already played in place of the injured Swede in the Serie A derby between the two teams earlier this month, scoring the decisive brace to win the match 2-1.
