Inter striker Lautaro Martinez will have the opportunity to put his goalscoring drought behind him on the biggest stage against AC Milan tomorrow.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who argue that the Coppa Italia semi-final first leg is the perfect occasion for the 24-year-old to get back on the scoresheet.

Martinez has positive memories from the derby since joining Inter, including scoring the winner in a dramatic 3-2 derby in 2019, and scoring a brace in last year’s 3-0 win over the Rossoneri in Serie A.

The Argentine has been going through some of his worst form in front of goal over the past couple months, however, including misfiring against Milan earlier in February, while he also missed a penalty against Inter’s city rivals in November’s 1-1 draw.

However, the striker will see this big occasion as a perfect time to put his recent struggles behind him, and should he show his best and score against the Rossoneri then it would go some way towards getting back to form.
