Former Inter defender Daniele Adani feels that Inter can feel some optimism that they will son get back to their best in front of goal.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI2, Adani explained how the Nerazzurri have been playing well enough overall that they can reasonably expect to turn a corner and start scoring again soon.

The Nerazzurri have not managed to find the back of the net in 313 minutes across all competitions over the past few weeks, by far their longest dry spell of the campaign.

Even though the team has tended to control possession in their matches and has tried to put pressure on opponents and create chances, they have often looked toothless in the decisive moments.

This has meant that Inter have dropped points across a damaging sequence of matches, but Adani feels confidence that they will have the quality to put this attacking slump behind them.

“The Nerazzurri create chances,” he said, “however, they aren’t very clinical scoring them, the attackers must find clarity.”

He added that “Their goals have decided the match against Roma, and they won the first trophy of the season. The Nerazzurri should worry if they don’t shoot at the goal.”

“But the team still produces,” he stressed, “they build attacks, the clarity of the attackers is the step that is missing. I think there’s reason for optimism.”
