Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca has already been approached by Napoli about a potential summer transfer, but he is only interested in joining Inter.

This according to SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, who reported on his homepage that the Partenopei are interested in the 23-year-old as a potential replacement for Victor Osimhen should he be sold, but that the player’s heart is set on the Nerazzurri.

Scamacca is widely reported to be one of Inter’s main targets for the summer transfer window, though the striker’s form for the Neroverdi has also attracted the interest of a number of other clubs in Serie A and abroad.

Napoli are aware that a significant offer could come in for Osimhen during the summer transfer window, and should this happen they are thinking about a plan to replace the Nigerian.

Scamacca had been one player they’ve been considering, but according to Pedulla, he is not interested in joining them as his desire is to move to Inter.

“Napoli wanted to take a precaution [in case Osimhen leaves in the summer], and inquired with Sassuolo as well as with Scamacca’s entourage,” he writes. “But the player in question made his decision, he wants Inter.”
