Defender Alessandro Bastoni put in a solid display in defense in yesterday evening’s goalless Coppa Italia draw with AC Milan despite a lacklustre performance by the team as a whole.

The 22-year-old received solid scores for his performance across the board in the player ratings for the match in Italian media today, as reported by L’Interista.

Inter seemed to lack control, energy, and incisiveness against the Rossoneri, especially in the first half as they were overran by their high-pressing opponents, but Bastoni was hardly a culprit for this.

The defender stuck to his task well at the back, while he also had several ambitious forays forward which at times looked like the team’s best route up the pitch.

All four of the Gazzetta dello Sport, the Corriere dello Sport, TuttoMercatoWeb, and L’Interista felt that Bastoni’s performance was worthy of a 6.5/10 score in their player ratings for the Coppa Italia clash.
