A scout for La Liga club Atletico Madrid was at yesterday evening’s Milan derby in the Coppa Italia to watch Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and AC Milan forward Rafael Leao.
This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Colchoneros are interested in signing one of the pair as a long-term solution in forward areas.
Martinez has been badly out of form over the past couple months, but the 24-year-old still has a number of admirers among major European clubs.
Atletico had been among the Argentine’s major suitors during the summer, and the Spanish giants are still considering him as a possibility to reinforce their attack with Luis Suarez aging out of the squad and Antoine Griezmann potentially returning to Barcelona in the summer.
The Spanish team sent a scout to yesterday evening’s match to keep an eye on Martinez, as well as Rossoneri forward Leao who is another target.
