Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi is glad that he’ll be able to call upon Joaquin Correa and Robin Gosens during the Nerazzurri’s remaining matches.

Speaking to InterTV after the team’s goalless draw with AC Milan in the Coppa Italia, the coach pointed out the significance of having the duo back from injury to the team as they look to navigate a tricky run-in across all competitions.

Gosens had been out with a long-term injury when he joined Inter during the January transfer window, whilst Correa had been recovering from a hamstring problem that he sustained in January.

Both players made their returns to the pitch as substitutes during the second half of yesterday’s Coppa Italia clash.

With the pair back in action, Inzaghi will have a deeper squad at his disposal, a potentially very significant factor for the team as they approach several massive matches for their season looking low on energy.

Of yesterday’s match, the coach said that “Both teams lacked a bit of brilliance, the stakes were high, we’re playing for a final and everyone looked a bit off the pace.”

“Fortunately, now I have the full squad,” the coach added, “Gosens and Correa are two top-quality options for the remaining matches.”

The coach stated that “Salernitana on Friday will be an important match for us, we will have to do well to get back our physical and mental strength.”

“There are two months to the end of the season,” the coach emphasized, “they will be very intense, many games to play, Correa and Gosens trained at full capacity all week and we’re waiting for them. Already tonight they showed that they can have their say.”
