Inter defender Milan Skriniar feels that his team still looked to have been out of form as they played out a goalless draw against AC Milan in the Coppa Italia.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia after the match, the 26-year-old emphasized that the Nerazzurri need to turn the corner and start to look like themselves again in attack.

Inter have now gone four matches across all competitions without scoring, a figure that would have seemed very surprising earlier in the season when they looked to be virtually unstoppable in front of goal.

The team fought hard against a high-pressing Rossoneri, but they did not seem to have their usual incisiveness in possession, and failed to create any telling opportunities to get on the scoresheet.

Skriniar is not satisfied with the performance given that the team didn’t create enough to score even if they did go into the second leg with a draw, and feels that getting past this bump in the road will be essential.

“We wanted to do more, but obviously we haven’t been at our best,” he said. “We have to regain the physical and mental force we had before.”

“A win can change everything and give us a much-needed boost,” he added. “I’m sure we’ll rediscover that strength.”
