Inter Wingback Robin Gosens: “Nice To Be Back On The Pitch, Hope To Play More In Return Leg”

Inter debutant Robin Gosens is glad to have made his return to the pitch after several months out of action as he came on late in the Nerazzurri’s Coppa Italia draw against AC Milan.

Speaking to InterTV after the match, the German expressed his happiness at being able to make his injury return, while he also added that he hopes that he can help the team out more in the second leg.

Gosens joined Inter in the January transfer window, but the 27-year-old was not able to play for the club in his first few weeks due to still recovering from an injury.

The German was not really able to show what he can do given that he was on the pitch for fewer than ten minutes, but he did introduce himself to the San Siro and showed that the manager already trusts him even for a massive occasion.

Now, Gosens will work to keep growing into the team over the rest of the season.

“Great feeling to be back on the pitch after a bad injury,” he said, “I’ve been out for almost five months. It was a fairly difficult match, we’re still playing for it.”

“We faced a strong team that press high,” he added, “we should have made better use of the space, but against such a top-class opponent it’s not always easy.”

“The team has played a lot and there is a bit of tiredness,” the German continued. “We occupied the pitch well and didn’t concede a goal, we’ll be ready for the second leg.”
