Italian journalist Luca Marchetti has said that tomorrow’s game is Inter’s chance to break out of their bad form and regain control of the Scudetto fight, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking whilst on Sky Sport in Italy, via FCInter1908, Luca Marchetti talked through some of the difficulties that Inter have been facing in recent weeks such as the tough run of fixtures and the fatigue in the squad.

Inter are clearly having difficulties. They have now played four matches without a goal. And if in some of these matches Inzaghi’s team has managed to make many chances to score, to show that they are more than alive and to give the feeling that it was a lack of clarity and that’s all, now there is a crisis.”

He then goes on to say that a home match against the team at the bottom of the table is a great opportunity for Inter to get into a good run of form again.

The fact is that now is the time to break out of the bad form. The opportunity on paper is great: the bottom team in the standings at home. In some cases it is said, one win is enough. We will see if it arrives, we will see if it is so.”

In terms of the title race, Luca Marchetti still feels that it is between Inter, AC Milan, and Napoli. He is intrigued to see if Napoli’s lack of involvement in the Coppa Italia may help them out.

“There is Milan and Inter, in addition to Napoli. We have not seen Napoli in the cup, and who knows if this may be an advantage. We will find out later, but beyond the players who are recovering, the fact of being able to prepare for the match with a week of training, especially for a coach like Spalletti, is very important.”
