The return to fitness of Joaquin Correa and Robin Gosens could be a turning point in Inter’s poor run of form in 2022, according to a report in the Italian media today.
As has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, the run of difficult fixtures coupled with Inter’s lack of quality depth means that form and morale has dipped dramatically in recent weeks.
One way that Simone Inzaghi will surely attempt to change this is to rely on Joaquin Correa and Robin Gosens to come into the team, lift the energy levels, and provide more rest time for players like Ivan Perisic, Edin Dzeko, and Lautaro Martinez.
Robin Gosens played his first minutes for the club when he came on at the end of the Coppa Italia match against AC Milan on Tuesday and he could be in line for more time on the pitch against Salernitana on Friday.
Joaquin Correa is also close to full fitness after playing the last 10 minutes on Tuesday.
