Salernitana boss Davide Nicola has said that his team must have the belief that they can beat Inter if they are to get anything from the match on Friday night at San Siro, according to a report in the Italian media.
Speaking during his press conference ahead of the contest against Inter, via FCInternews, Davide Nicola was asked whether Inter’s decline in form is an advantage for Salernitana coming into this game.
The new coach does not see the situation in that way and he feels that Inter are fighting for the Scudetto because of the undoubted quality that they have in all areas.
“The ranking never speaks by chance, they find themselves fighting for the Scudetto and play fast football, the result of great ball possession. The values are undoubted, but every game is a story in itself. If we think of going to Milan to watch the others, we will enhance their qualities.”
He then said that instead of thinking about which Inter players are struggling and if the team is not performing, they must focus on their own belief that they can win the game.
“Instead, we must have the belief that we can do it. If there is a desire to express our potential, you will see that we will go out on the pitch with the right mentality. The great work we are doing is focused on self-esteem.”
The match kicks off at San Siro at 20:45 local time and Inter will be in desperate need for three points.
