Simone Inzaghi’s unwillingness to change his team shows that he does not have confidence in the players on his bench right now, according to a report in the Italian print media today.

As has been reported by Tuttosport today, Simone Inzaghi appears to be making changes in games later than he used to and that could be seen as an acknowledgement that the substitutes such as Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez are not providing the impact that they were earlier in the season.

They did not come on until the 70th minute against AC Milan on Tuesday night despite it being clear that many on the pitch were very tired from the congested and competitive calendar.

It is likely that the coach is in regular dialogue with the club regarding who he wants to sign in the summer to address this issue. Gianluca Scamacca and Davide Frattesi are a start but more will be needed.
