Former Inter striker Goran Pandev has said that he was willing to play as a full back for Inter under Jose Mourinho, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media today.

Speaking during an interview with Sportitalia, via FCInternews, the Macedonian veteran striker talked about his time at Inter working under Jose Mourinho and the coach’s way of getting the best out of everyone in the team.

He said that in order to be a part of that team, he was willing to play at full back. Even Samuel Eto’o was asked to play as a full back by Jose Mourinho.

“To play in that team I was ready to be a full-back as well. It was more difficult for Eto’o, but we convinced him. The coach talked to everyone, he said ‘If Eto’o is a full-back, we win the Champions League.’ When you win, when you play well, the roles are not so important.”

Goran Pandev also took questions about the current state of the Serie A title race. The Parma forward believes that this is the year that Napoli finally win the Scudetto again.

“Napoli can win the Scudetto, I think it’s their year.”

Part of why he thinks this is that Inter and AC Milan have already dropped too many points in important games.

“Inter and Milan have dropped many points. There are certainly still many matches, but I think they can do it. Inter are the favourites but they still have the Champions League. They also seem a bit tired, they missed the match that could have ended the championship, the one with Milan.”
