Inter defender Milan Skriniar has said that Inter cannot underestimate their opponent tonight as they face the bottom side in Serie A, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

Speaking to Inter TV ahead of the match against Salernitana on Friday night, via FCInternews, the Slovakian defender talked about how this game could be different to when Inter won comfortably in Salerno earlier in the season.

“I think it will be different to the first game but we have to look at ourselves and think about playing well. I have faith in this team, but we must not underestimate anything and fight for the victory and the three points from the first to the last minute.”

Despite the fact that Salernitana are at the bottom of the Serie A table and need a serious upturn in form to stand any chance of staying in the division, Milan Skriniar does not think it will be an easy match for the Nerazzurri who are having struggles of their own.

“It will not be an easy match, for sure. They are fighting for survival, we are fighting for the Scudetto. We must enter the game with the right mindset, play carefully and try to win it because it is a fundamental match for our season.”

Milan Skriniar will find himself trying to keep Salernitana forward Milan Djuric quiet during the game, the forward who scored against AC Milan recently.

The Inter man is aware of the physicality of his opponent and knows he will have to be careful, saying: “It will be an important battle, he is a very physical player, who plays with grit and holds the ball well, we have to be careful with him but they also have other good players so we shouldn’t underestimate anyone.”
