Robin Gosens could make his first start for Inter in Tuesday’s Champions League round of sixteen second leg against Liverpool.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the German could already be trusted to play from the start in the massive European match should Ivan Perisic not be available.

Perisic pulled up with an injury prior to the start of yesterday evening’s Serie A win over Salernitana, and while the muscle problem doesn’t look to be too serious for the Croat, he may miss the clash with Liverpool, or not start.

Matteo Darmian had started on the left for the Nerazzurri in yesterday evening’s win over Salernitana, but Gosens came on for the 32-year-old during the second half and made an impact in his time on the pitch, including assisting the fourth goal.

Coach Simone Inzaghi could already decide to put his trust in the 27-year-old as his team look to overturn a 2-0 first leg deficit away at Anfield.
