Arturo Vidal is set to take the place of the suspended Nicolo Barella in midfield against Liverpool once again when Inter face the Reds in the Champions League on Tuesday.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who report that the 34-year-old will once again be trusted from the start as he had been in the first leg of the tie.

Barella has had to miss both legs of the Nerazzurri’s round of sixteen tie against Liverpool after picking up a two-match suspension in the team’s final group stage match against Real Madrid.

Vidal took the 25-year-old’s place in midfield during the first leg of the tie a little under three weeks ago, and the Chilean acquitted himself well with his performance.

The former Juventus, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona midfielder is in contention with Roberto Gagliardini to start the match, but he looks to be the favourite to be included in the starting eleven.
