Former Inter defender Massimo Paganin believes that Paulo Dybala can improve the level of Inter’s forward line, though he is not yet at the highest level.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster RAI Radio, the 50-year-old suggested that the Argentine could be the right addition to take the Nerazzurri’s attack to the next level.

The contract situation of Dybala at Juventus has led to an increase in reports that the 28-year-old could make the switch to Inter on a free transfer during the summer transfer window should he not agree an extension with the Bianconeri.

The Argentine’s quality has never been in doubt during his time in Serie A first with Palermo and then with the Bianconeri, though doubts about his fitness and consistency remain.

Should Dybala join Inter, however, Paganin believes that he could have a positive impact as the Nerazzurri search for another gear to move up.

“Dybala is a great player, but he is not yet world-class,” the former defender said. He’s never managed to find consistency.”

“He can certainly make Inter take a step forward in quality,” he added. “Thinking about moving on from Dzeko, Lautaro could play as the lone striker with Dybala further back.”
