Spanish referee Mateu Lahoz has been appointed to be in charge of Inter’s Champions League round of sixteen second leg away to Liverpool.

This is confirmed in an announcement on the Nerazzurri’s official site, which also identifies the entire officiating crew to be in charge of the match.

Lahoz will be assisted in his duties by the likes of Pau Cebrian and Roberto Diaz, whilst the role of fourth official will be filled by Ricardo de Burgos.

In the VAR booth, Juan Martinez Munuera will oversee the match to ensure that any errors made by the on-pitch officials are corrected, and he will be assisted in his duties by Guillermo Cuadra Fernandez, completing an all-Spanish crew.

The Nerazzurri and the Reds will both be hoping that the focus stays on the action on the pitch rather than on the officiating as they vie for a spot in the semi-finals of Europe’s top competition.
