Legendary former AC Milan head coach Arrigo Sacchi believes that the title race between city rivals Inter and AC Milan in Serie A is still unclear due to the Rossoneri’s youth and inexperience.

Speaking to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the former coach suggested that his old side have what it takes, but that they will have to show experience beyond their years to get the better of the Nerazzurri.

The Rossoneri’s 1-0 win over Napoli yesterday evening has made a decisive shift in the Scudetto race, with the Partenopei now finding themselves a way back heading into the run-in and the Rossoneri showing that they can lead the way right until the end.

Inter’s fate is still in their own hands as they can go top of the table if they win their game in hand, though at this stage of the season there are few certainties, whilst the Rossoneri have the head-to-head advantage if the two teams finish level on points.

Sacchi feels that it will come down to what Milan show, stating that it’s “Impossible to say about such a young team.”

“The important thing is that they continue to focus on building their style of play and the group,” he added. “This is the only way they can overcome the lack of experience and, consequently, of technical qualities compared to their rivals.”
