Inter will try and score an early goal in tomorrow’s Champions League round of sixteen away leg against Liverpool.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who suggest that the Nerazzurri will want to try and unsettle their opposition and put the tie in the balance as early as possible, and then try and impose their game.

The Nerazzurri have a mountain to climb at Anfield, overturning a 2-0 deficit away to one of Europe’s elite in an intensely hostile atmosphere.

In the first leg at the San Siro, the Nerazzurri went toe-to-toe with the 2019 winners of the competition, but the disappointing result came about from a lack of clinical finishing and some naivete at the back.

This will have impressed on the team that even at their best, they must rely on some luck to get the better of a team like Liverpool, and simply playing their game may not be enough to overturn the deficit.

Accordingly, the team will try and start off by putting their opposition to the sword, to cause doubt in the Liverpool players’ mind, and most importantly reduce the scale of their task to just needing one goal over the remainder of the match.
