Italian journalist Mario Sconcerti believes that Inter and AC Milan are all but neck-and-neck in the Scudetto race after the Rossoneri’s victory over Napoli yesterday evening.

Writing in his column in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, the journalist suggested that the complexion of the Scudetto race has shifted with yesterday’s result.

Milan and Napoli both had an opportunity to go clear at the top of Serie A with three points yesterday, and it was the Rossoneri who seized it, albeit with Inter still having a game in hand to go clear.

Now, the Partenopei will have a hard time getting back into the title race, whilst the Rossoneri look to be in as strong a position as they’ve been all season as the teams at the top head into the run-in for the season.

Sconcerti believes that this will be what the race looks like in the final stretch of the season, writing that “This is the start of a race that is not new, but different, where Milan are on par with Inter.”
