Inter have received a fine of €20,000 from UEFA for events during the first leg of their Champions League round of sixteen clash with Liverpool at the San Siro.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are subject to fines for fireworks displays by fans during the match as well as the blockage of certain exits in the stadium.

The atmosphere at the San Siro when Liverpool visited in the Champions League was predictably intense, though in a couple aspects the behaviour of some fans violated UEFA regulations.

For the lighting of fireworks displays, the Nerazzurri were fined €8,000, whilst the blockages of some exits at certain points during the match resulted in a €12,000 fine, as the regulations state that all exits must be clear at all times.

The club were notified of the fines through official channels by UEFA earlier yesterday, with the association deciding on the amounts upon review.
