Inter have firmly denied rumours that they are interested in signing Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez on a free transfer this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Nerazzurri have made clear that they do not consider the Uruguayan to be a target even if he is to be available out of contract.

Yesterday, reports from Spanish media emerged which named Inter among the clubs most keenly interested in signing Suarez should the Spanish champions not offer him a new deal at the end of June.

The striker’s former club Ajax, as well as Sevilla and clubs in Brazil were also among the teams reported to be interested in his signature.

However, according to Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri have firmly denied these rumours, and rather consider the likes of Sassuolo’s Gianluca Scamacca and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Marcus Thuram to be among their major targets.
