Former Inter Preisdent Massimo Moratti feels that the Nerazzurri missed a big opportunity to get to the quarter-finals of the Champions League by going through against Liverpool.

Speaking to the press, as reported by FCInterNews, Moratti gave the view that the game could well have been the Nerazzurri if they’d taken a little more risk.

Inter will always have expected that their two-legged tie against the Reds was going to be a major challenge, but across both legs they hardly looked as though they felt that it was beyond them.

In the end, the Nerazzurri suffered the decisive blow of Alexis Sanchez’s red card moments after the goal that seemed to give them hope, and they seemed to be aware that they had likely gone as far as they could in the competition despite their efforts.

Moratti believes, however, that the team could have pushed for it instead, stating that “Yesterday we missed an opportunity, perhaps with a little more courage we could have done more.”
