Defender Milan Skriniar was his team’s best player on the night as they beat Liverpool 1-0 in the Champions League yesterday evening, according to Italian media.

The 27-year-old was awarded a score of 7.5/10 for his performance in the player ratings for the match in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, the highest of any Nerazzurri player.

Skriniar played a key role in preserving Inter’s clean sheet on the night, with several vital blocks and an overall dominant physical presence at the back frustrating the home side to ensure that they faced their first home defeat in over a year.

Meanwhile, the likes of Alessandro Bastoni, Marcelo Brozovic, and Arturo Vidal were all given just one grade lower, 7/10, for their displays.

Lautaro Martinez was given a 6.5/10 score for a mixed display which saw him marginalized out of the match for long spells before he put his team ahead with a well-taken long-range effort, whilst Alexis Sanchez’s red card meant that he was given a 4/10 grade.
