Inter defender Lautaro Martinez scored his first Champions League goal in well over a year to help the Nerazzurri to a 1-0 win against Liverpool at Anfield.
The result wasn’t enough to see them through to the next round on aggregate after their 2-0 loss in the first leg of the tie, but it was nevertheless a display which the players can feel proud of.
Martinez posted on his Instagram account after the match to express his pride in what the team had done.
He captioned the post, “I’m proud of this team, our heads are held high and we keep on growing and working.”
