Inter’s executives are working on a plan to extend Simone Inzaghi’s Inter contract by a year in the near future, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.

As has been reported by Sport Mediaset, via FCInter1908, the former Lazio boss has impressed his employers enough already since taking the job in the summer that they want to keep him in his current role until at least 2024.

His current contract runs until 2023 but given the increased interest in his credentials from elsewhere, they want to act now and secure his commitment to the Inter project.

He currently earns €4 million per season but the extension to his contract would up his salary to €6 million.

By securing Simone Inzaghi’s place at the club, it should help secure the extension of players like Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic who are also in discussions to stay at the club for many more years.
