Inter wingback Ivan Perisic will pay a small compensation fee to a fan he had an altercation with in 2018 after a defeat to Sassuolo, according to a report in the Italian media today.

As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Ivan Perisic will pay the fan in question a fee of €2,000 in compensation which means there will be no need for a criminal trial.

The altercation happened after Inter had lost at home to Sassuolo 1-2 in the 2017/18 Serie A season. That result risked Inter’s chances of finishing in fourth place and qualifying for the Champions League.

They did qualify after AS Roma won 3-2 against Simone Inzaghi’s Lazio side. At the end of the match, Ivan Perisic had a heated disagreement with a fan in the stands who had shouted something offensive at him.

The story has finally come to a close with the compensation fee being paid by the player.
