Italian defender Danilo D’Ambrosio is the favourite to replace the injured Stefan de Vrij against Torino on Sunday night, according to a report in the Italian media.
As has been reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the defender appears to be Simone Inzaghi’s favoured choice to fill in in defence rather than use Andrea Ranocchia or Federico Dimarco.
It has become common for Danilo D’Ambrosio to take the place of any defender who is injured or suspended for any given game. He came on in place of Stefan de Vrij against Liverpool at Anfield on Tuesday night when the Dutchman got injured.
He performed very well in that tough situation against one of the most potent attacks in European football.
There is a chance that Stefan de Vrij’s injury will see him miss the upcoming match against Vincenzo Italiano’s Fiorentina side as well as the match against Torino on Sunday night.
