The Inter directors are planning to extend the contract of Simone Inzaghi as soon as is convenient by another year, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
As has been reported by Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, via FCInter1908, the club are so happy with the work that the former Lazio coach is doing with the Nerazzurri squad that they want to tie him down to a new deal.
His existing contract runs until the summer of 2023 but that is short enough that Inter run a very real risk of other clubs attempting to get the coach from Piacenza to sign a deal with them.
The plan is to give him a deal that will run until 2024 instead and will see his salary rise from €4 million to €6 million each season, putting him among the top-earning coaches in the league.
It is believed that the coach would happily sign the deal.
