Italian journalist Matteo Marani has said that Inter are the best placed mentally to win the Scudetto this season as they won it last year as well, according to a report in the Italian broadcast media.
Speaking whilst on Sky Sport, via FCInternews, the journalist explained that the mental structure that Inter have within the team could be what sets them apart from the likes of AC Milan and Napoli when it comes to delivering the Scudetto to their fans in May.
“I think Inter are the most structured from a mental and psychological point of view because they have already won and this helps.”
Matteo Marani then unpacked some of the issues that Napoli and AC Milan have shown this season that backs up his argument.
“When Milan and Napoli found themselves in a situation in which they could consolidate first place, they failed.
“Now Milan have an easier calendar on paper, but with games that somehow risk being more difficult.”
AC Milan are top of the table on 60 points coming into this weekend with Inter two points behind, and Napoli another point further back.
The Rossoneri are facing Empoli whilst Luciano Spalletti’s side have a tricky game against Hellas Verona. Inter are away to Torino.
