Inter are ready to do their utmost to hold on to centre-back Milan Skriniar and have already begun preparing a new contract for him.

According to L’Interista.it, the Nerazzurri see the Slovakia international as one of their crown jewels and are willing to go all out to keep him beyond the conclusion of his current deal, set to expire in 2023.

It comes after his man-of-the-match performance in the 1-0 Champions League victory over Liverpool on Tuesday, and fears that clubs could swoop for him as he enters the final year of his contract.

As such, directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio have arranged to ignite renewal discussions in April and are ready to offer Skriniar a deal similar to that of midfielder Nicolo Barella.

It would see the former Sampdoria defender earn €4.5 million per season and extend his contract until 2026, with the club determined not to let him leave any time soon.
