Inter are focusing on reaching an agreement to extend the contract of centre-back Milan Skriniar and will step up negotiations at Easter.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Slovakia international only has a year remaining on his existing deal and directors Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio are ready to offer a considerable financial package to convince him to pen a new contract.

There is a fear at the club that Skriniar could be liable to offers below his value this summer as he enters the final year of his contract, and he has attracted interest from elsewhere, so Inter are ready to push ahead to offer him an attractive salary.

It is thought to be a similar deal to that of Nicolo Barella, at €4.5 million per year plus bonuses, and the Nerazzurri will look to begin talks at Easter for what they hope will be relatively easy negotiations.
