Following the sanctions imposed against owner Roman Abramovich by the British government, Chelsea players are thought to be looking for ways out, and Inter may be able to swoop.

As reported in today’s newspaper edition of British outlet The Telegraph, there is a fear that the West London club could financially implode following the strict restrictions placed against Abramovich due to alleged close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin, amidst the ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

It is suggested that many players fear for the future of the club and there is uncertainty about salary payments, with Chelsea unable to bring funding in and facing a monthly wage bill of £28 million, and cash reserves of just £17m.

The Telegraph confirmed that lawyers have been evaluating the working rights of the players and whilst it is believed that it would require two months’ worth of missed payments for a player to take action, they could win any potential legal case if they chose to break from their contract early.

Inter have recently shown an interest in bringing their former striker Romelu Lukaku back to the club, and are thought to be monitoring the situation at Stamford Bridge closely.
