Inter have moved a step closer to securing the services of Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca after reaching an agreement with the player.

As reported by L’Interista.it, the Serie A champions have struck an agreement with Scamacca in principle for a five-year contract worth €2.5 million per season, plus bonuses.

Whilst Inter are yet to agree a deal with Sassuolo over a transfer, they are closing in on Scamacca and will now turn their attention to negotiating with the Neroverdi.

It is believed that talks between the two clubs have progressed and Sassuolo are looking for a €40m fee for the Italian international, who has scored 11 goals in 26 Serie A appearances this season.

The former Genoa loanee appears set on a move to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza after prolonged interest from Inter, and is reported to be close to joining in the summer.

Having come through Roma’s academy, Scamacca moved to Sassuolo after a brief stint at PSV Eindhoven, and enjoyed loan spells at Ascoli and Cremonese, in addition to Genoa.
