Inter are set to release Chilean pair Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal at the end of the season, with neither having any prospect of being offered a new contract.

According to L’Interista.it, the Nerazzurri have already made it clear that they do not have any intention of retaining either player and neither striker Sanchez nor midfielder Vidal have any place in coach Simone Inzaghi’s plans going forward.

Meanwhile, the duo’s significant wages are also a contributing factor in the decision to let them go, with CEO Beppe Marotta keen to remove such heavy burdens and allow greater room to manoeuvre in the transfer window.

As such, the Chile international teammates are entering the final months of their Inter careers and will be allowed to find new clubs at the end of the season.

Sanchez joined the Nerazzurri on an initial loan from Manchester United in 2019 before joining permanently the following summer, scoring 17 goals in 99 appearances.

Vidal, meanwhile, arrived from Barcelona in October 2020 and has featured 61 times, helping Inter win the Scudetto last season.
