Marcelo Brozovic will not be involved in Inter’s Serie A match against Torino after being left out of the squad as an injury precaution.

As reported by Sky Sport Italia, the Croatia international has not been deemed fit enough to feature and will not travel to Turin, having been taken off in the second half of Inter’s 1-0 win over Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Brozovic had hoped to recover in time for the match at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino but only returned to group training today after individual sessions, and will remain behind at the Appiano Gentile training centre.

In his absence, coach Simone Inzaghi is likely to turn to one of Roberto Gagliardini or Arturo Vidal, with the former replacing Brozovic as a substitute against Liverpool.

Elsewhere, injury to Stefan De Vrij means Danilo D’Ambrosio is expected to join Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni in defence, whilst Edin Dzeko should return to the starting line-up in attack, alongside Lautaro Martinez.
