Inter must pay €40 million to secure the signing of Sassuolo striker Gianluca Scamacca, after the player gave the green light to the switch.

As reported by L’Interista.it, the Neroverdi are unwilling to allow the Italian international to depart cheaply, and will push for a club record fee in order to part with him.

The former Roma academy forward is set on a move to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza but no deal has been struck between the two clubs yet, with Inter exploring the possibility of spreading the costs out or convincing Sassuolo to agree to a loan with an obligation to buy in 2023.

Alternatively, the Nerazzurri may seek to reduce the €40m fee by including players in exchange, with defender Lorenzo Pirola a potential option following a season on loan at Monza in Serie B.

Scamacca, who has won two caps for Italy, has scored 11 goals in 26 Serie A appearances for Sassuolo this season.
