Ex-Napoli striker Nicola Amoruso has urged his former club not to give up on their hopes of winning the Scudetto, but conceded that Inter possess more about them.

The Partenopei sit in third place in the Serie A table, a point behind Inter but having played a game more, as they seek a first league title since 1990.

Speaking to Italian radio station Vikonos Web Radio yesterday, and as reported by FCInterNews.it, Amoruso felt that Napoli could still go on to win the title, but it was crucial to beat the teams around them, after falling to defeat against AC Milan last weekend.

“For Napoli everything is still possible, there are plenty of false steps in a long season with many matches, you have to have confidence in your own ability and not give up,” the ex-Juventus man declared.

“Of course it must be said that if you want to win the Scudetto, head-to-head clashes are fundamental, but I am confident in an immediate recovery, Napoli have to believe it.”

Assessing the Azzurri’s main challengers for the title, Amoruso pointed to Inter as the best-equipped team to go on to win the league, particularly after their performance in a 1-0 win over Liverpool in the Champions League.

“Inter have something more than the others and they also showed it at Liverpool, despite the elimination,” he continued.

“Milan live on the wings of enthusiasm and Juve are on the comeback, even if I am not completely convinced.

“There are 30 points available, everything is still to play for,” the 47-year-old concluded.
