Inter are hoping that they will not miss Marcelo Brozovic long through injury, and that he could return as soon as their Serie A clash with Fiorentina next Saturday.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, who report that the club are holding their breath and hoping that the Croat can play a significant role in their run-in in Serie A.

The last time Inter were without Brozovic was also in their first Serie A match back from a Champions League clash with Liverpool, with the 29-year-old having been suspended against Sassuolo.

The Nerazzurri lost that match 2-0, and they will be desperate to avoid a similar outcome against the Granata this evening, with Brozovic set to miss out through a calf injury which he picked up against Liverpool.

The Nerazzurri’s fate remains in their own hands given their game in hands, but for now they are five points behind city rivals AC Milan in the table, and they will want to be at their strongest as they work to make up that gap.

Having Brozovic fit and available would be a key part of this, and the team will be aiming to see him return to the pitch as soon as next weekend’s clash with La Viola.
