Matias Vecino looks to be the favourite to start in midfield for Inter in this evening’s Serie A clash with Torino, with Marcelo Brozovic missing out due to injury.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, who report that the Uruguayan is likely to take the place of the Croat at the base of midfield.

Replacing Brozovic will be one of coach Simone Inzaghi’s key considerations for this evening’s trip to face the Granata, with the 29-year-old a vital player in his role in front of the defense.

There is no direct replacement for the Croat in the squad, although Tuttosport note that it is very unlikely that the coach will turn to Nicolo Barella in the role as he had in the 2-0 loss to Sassuolo last month when Brozovic was suspended.

Rather, the coach will reshuffle the team to make up for the absence of Brozovic, and while there are several possibilities for how they will cope without him, including Roberto Gagliardini and Arturo Vidal, it is Vecino who looks to be the favourite.
