Legendary former Inter goalkeeper Walter Zenga still feels that coming back to the Nerazzurri as a coach would be a great dream in his career.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster Canale 5, the 61-year-old reflected on the possibility of one day coming back to coach his former side as one last accomplishment that he would like to see come to pass in his career.

Zenga made nearly five hundred appearances for the Nerazzurri during his playing days, while he has also become fairly accomplished as a coach, having spells at the likes of Cagliari and Wolverhampton Wanderers among others.

However, the former keeper has never quite shown the acumen as a coach to be given the position at Inter, with the closest he came being in the middle of last decade when he was considered for the position but ultimately not given it.

It remains to be seen if Zenga’s and Inter’s paths could yet cross again in this capacity, but it is at any rate still a dream for him.

“I’ve fulfilled my dream of being part of the team and doing my ranks,” he said, “and now I still dream of one day coaching Inter.”
