Sources close to Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku have firmly denied rumours that the Belgian is angling for a return to Inter.

This according to UK tabloid the Daily Star, who report that sources have described the rumours as “utter bulls**t to sell newspapers” and clarified that the striker intends to remain at Chelsea.

Lukaku left Inter to join the Blues in a blockbuster deal last summer, but he has not managed to replicate his form from his two seasons with the Nerazzurri in the English capital.

In December, the Belgian gave an interview to Italian media where he admitted that he felt regret over having departed from the Nerazzurri, which led to speculation that he could eventually return.

Moreover, the difficult situation at Chelsea where the freezing of owner Roman Abramovich’s assets has left their ability to do business up in the air has rumours to emerge that some players could exit.

Lukaku has been linked with a possible sensational return to Inter, but according to the Daily Star, the sources close to the player have quashed these rumours as having no basis in fact.
