Inter head coach managed to earn his team a point with his second-half substitutions in yesterday’s Serie A clash away to Torino.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, who note how the players sent on from the bench impacted the match in the Nerazzurri’s favour.

Inter did not start at all well against the Granata, as the eleven selected to play from the beginning looked unable to cope with the opposition pressure and went a goal down.

At the start of the second half, the coach reshuffled the left side of his team, replacing Ivan Perisic with Robin Gosens and Alessandro Bastoni with Federico Dimarco, and this gave that side of the team more attacking penetration and defensive solidity.

This was not enough, however, to get his team a goal, and so the coach turned to the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal, and Joaquin Correa as the half wore on and his team became more desperate in their search for an equalizer.

In the end, it was Sanchez who found a very late goal to salvage a point, capping off a bright performance from the bench, while Gosens had played a key role in keeping the scoreline at 1-0 with his defensive interventions.
